FEMALE DIVISION PLANNED FOR 2017-18
Date of Event : Mon Jul 31, 2017 1:30PM

Welcome to a new season of VTCA cricket. As has been advised previously, the Association are planning to run a specific women's division for season 2017/18.

At this point the format we are looking to run with is for games to be played on Sundays, all games to be as a one day format of 36 overs a side with the possibility of some T/20 matches as well.In the early years of the concept we are prepared to look at sides with either turf or hard wicket grounds.

You would have noticed on our affiliation forms that went out last week that there is a section to include a women's side if you wish to run with one. So we can get the ball rolling as early as possible, if your club plans to affiliate a female side could you confirm it to me via return email ASAP.

This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce girl's and ladies to the game of cricket at a grass roots level. If they enjoy the game, then the sky is the limit for available pathways.

I hope you guys are as excited by this concept as we at the VTCA are.

Looking forward to a sensational season ahead, yours in cricket,

Steve McNamara
VTCA President
