T/20 ROUND OF 16 BLASTS INTO ACTION TUESDAY - GET THERE
Date of Event Victorian Turf Cricket Association: Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:34PM

For those looking for some free entertainment tomorrow evening, the VTCA has the following Round of 16 T/20 finals taking place.
In Region 1 Newport Digman host the surprise packets of the tournament, WUSCCA club Tarneit Central. Can the underdogs from the Churches comp claim another big VTCA scalp? I'm sure Matty Shiell and his boys will be hell bent on ending their giant killing run.
In Region 2 St, Francis De Sales host Moreland rival Haig Fawkner in what promises to be a very entertaining encounter with both teams fielding experienced experts of the short forms of the game. With only two Senior Division teams reaching the Round of 16, I'm tipping Haig's Amit Chaudhary will be not wanting his side's run to finish here.
From St. Francis's perspective, Matt Matty Costello's outfit would love to claim another big scalp.
Also in Region 2 Royal Park / Brunswick take on Shafraz Mohamed's Footscray United. The former Keilor "tweaker" in his first year of coaching has done well to get his Division 4 side into the final 16 - can they travel to Parkville and take out RPB or will Biggles and the boys be ready to take them down?
In Region 3 Sydenham / Hillside led by Ben Green await the only other remaining Senior Division side left in the draw, Druids Cricket Club. Can Druids prolific skipper Mick Hay produce one of his blistering innings to keep his side moving through to the quarter finals or will the hosts have a plan to stifle the previous T/20 champs?
In Region 4 Keilor Park who just edged through to this stage of proceedings take on the fancied Sunshine Cricket Club Since crossing over from VSDCA Troy Stone's boys have won three consecutive division flags but have yet to feature in a VTCA T/20 Final, could this be their chance to add the Kookaburra Cup to their ever burgeoning trophy case?
On Wednesday evening, in Region 1 Point Cook host Gellibrand in their Round of 16 encounter. Gellibrand have had a phenomenal season so far, failing to drop a game in either divisional or T/20 cricket - Could they upset Point Cook on their own paddock or will the home team inflict the first defeat on Paul Hetherington's outfit?
So there are some very entertaining matches scheduled for the two next evenings - might be a perfect opportunity somewhere locally to find yourself a shady spot with a cold beverage and watch some quality short form cricket - Let's be honest the Stars & Renegades haven't been that great to watch this year - 'I'm tipping some ripping games in this lot, some real nail biters. Support your local Clubs.
